Line 6 Delay Dl4 Manuale Italiano Wow
I was in the same boat. Happy with my Carbon Copy but needing some more flexibility, tap. Double delays. For a new project. After borrowing a couple of different pedals (DD-7, Line6 DL4), I bought a TC Electronics Nova Repeater:- $169 at Sweetwater.I've only had it for about 3 weeks so I'm probably still in the honeymoon period but I REALLY dig it. Sounds great. Does both Tap and 'Audio' tap, which is more slick than I had given it credit for initially.
Line 6 Dl4 Looper
(Hold down the tap button. Strum the strings. It will take the tempo from that). I have owned the line 6 delay for a couple of years now.
Line 6 Dl4 Tricks
It has tap tempo along with a lot of other neat features. Kind of pricy, but built like an anvil. Needs an amp with an effects loop according to the manual, but I have used it in front of the input without a problem on several occasions. Just use the supplied wall wart tho, cause batteries will send you to the poor house. I don't use it all the time but whenever I do it works as advertised. Good delay, tho I'm not real impressed with their other stuff. Another vote for the TC Nova, they sound incredible. But seriously, how much do need the tap tempo?
I just put a bit of masking tape around the knobs of my Memory man and put a line with a sharpie where my usual positions are for different songs I play live and that works fine. It's also pretty easy to get it in the right spot by ear, especially on analog delays which don't have such a big range of times. That said, I still really want a TC Nova because it sounds so completely different. But if you like the sound of the one you've got, why rush to get another? Click to expand. Line 6 makes a pedal called the Echo ParkIt's basically a DL4 without the bells and whistles. It includes tap tempo and many other cool little features, like dotted-eights (U2 rhythms), wow & flutter simulation, either true-bypass or fading echo trails (not both), optional stereo out (with optional ping pong echoes), reverse echo, and TAP TEMPO which I could not live without. It's way under $200.It's also built like a tank, regular-pedal-sized, and very hard to beat. I got mine for $99 but have seen them for as much as $140.
Even running in the VM, Windows+Corel was very responsive.BUT - I couldn't get the GCC Bengal drivers to install. I really like how Fusion integrates the Windows directories with the OSX ones - The Windows desktop is redirected to the OSX desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc all map correspondingly. The virtualization engine is really efficient. This is a Taiwanese company that makes a very nice cutter, but has a HORRIBLE web site and nonexistent customer service. Bengal bn 60 software applications. They have yet to return a single one of my support calls.
Depends where you shop.It is very very difficult to beat this pedal without going to a full-blown DL4 or rackmounted echo unit.Good luck in your search. The masking tape is a good idea, but with a live drummer whose count off's might not be exact every night I could end up twiddling knobs. I'm leaving the first of december to go on a short sort of audition tour with a guy playing some casino's and clubs in the midwest.
That's why I'm looking hard. He plays pop/contemporary country and I feel like a tap enabled delay would serve that function well. I might buy the nova and keep the carbon copy for when I need space ship and sci-fi fun sounds at home. Can't work that into many kenny chesney tunes. Thanks for the input thus far.
