I was keeping it as simple as possible.I removed the old Maxtor hard SATA drive (it seemed simpler) and fitted a Samsung Spinpoint.I only fitted it, didn't do anything else except changed the BIOS to boot from the DVD after the several failed attempts.There's only one hard drive.I bought DVD from Amazon UK months ago so I will have a problem getting a replacement.Should I have done something else when fitting the new hard drive? I think the BIOS is ok, but I'm not sure. Only two things and a question come to mind:1) If it's an older PC then you may have on SATA-I support, the Maxtor may have worked fine but newer drives are SATA-II and as such will not work untill you jumper the drive to 'SATA-I' mode.
